A Pair of Arrests Following Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

The assault resulted in the temporary closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area.

An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions come after a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was one of the injured during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later released.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the location. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were called at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of people hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not considered an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
