Charli XCX Plays a Dark Alter Ego of Herself in Satirical Film Preview

Charli XCX is gearing up for a major cinematic presence in 2026, kicking off with the satirical film titled The Moment.

Throughout the movie, she plays what she describes as a twisted version of herself.

It’s the most authentic portrayal of the music business that I’ve ever witnessed, Charli commented.

She elaborated in a discussion: It’s far from a live performance documentary, yet the concept originated from the expectation to make one.

An Early Look into The Project

The debut trailer, unveiled on this week, mixes real clips from her live performances with made-up backstage scenes.

The film is directed and co-written by her collaborator, who shared that the plot revolves around a reality where the singer took completely different paths throughout the promotion of her chart-topping release Brat.
