The Olympic champion concluded her 800m season with a triumph at the women-only Athlos event in NYC on Friday night.
{The reigning Olympic champion, who earned bronze at the global championships last month, dominated an outstanding victory in 1:56.53 in what was just her sixth appearance in a season affected by a muscle issue.
Fellow Briton and world silver medallist Georgia Bell took the runner-up spot again in one minute 58.33 seconds, while the athlete from St Vincent Shafiqua M. (one minute 58.57) secured third place.
"I haven't competed much this year so it was probably easier for me to go out there and want to give it something," said Hodgkinson.
"The atmosphere out there is crazy so it was really, really fun."
The women-only meet packed the stadium in its second year, introducing a festive vibe to traditional track, with musical performances and special crowns replacing standard medals.
The tennis legend with 23 major titles Serena Williams, who is wed to Athlos founder Alexis Ohanian, was on hand to present the winners with their tiaras.
Last year's winners received sixty thousand dollars (forty-four thousand six hundred and three pounds) - among the biggest cash prizes in athletics.
The competition also drew several top athletes, as Kenya's triple Olympic champion and global record breaker Faith K. triumphed in the mile race, crossing the finish line in four hours 17.78 minutes.
American Brittany Brown, the 200m bronze medallist from last year's Paris Olympics, won the sprint double.
