Real Madrid's winger Offers Apology to Los Blancos Fans

Vinicius Jr in action

The forward has registered five strikes in 10 Spanish league matches this season.

Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr has said sorry to fans for his reaction when taken off in Sunday's heated El Clasico victory.

The Brazilian was replaced in the second half and expressed his disappointment by walking immediately off the pitch.

Vinicius eventually reappeared to the dugout and, after his club's 2-1 win, tried to confront Barça's Lamine Yamal during unsavoury post-match exchanges.

"This day I want to say sorry to all the Real Madrid fans for my behavior when I was replaced in the derby," he shared on his account.

"Similarly to I have previously expressed during today's session, I also want to express regret anew to my teammates, the club, and the leadership.

"At times fervor gets the better of me because I constantly desire to succeed and assist my team. My competitive character comes from the affection I have for this team and everything it stands for."

Vinicius moved to the Spanish capital from his former club in 2018 for a significant fee and has scored triple figures in numerous matches.

But his career in the Spanish capital is uncertain with speculation in the past few months stating that Real would contemplate allowing the young star depart if they got a appropriate bid.

When Vinicius was taken off on that day, TV coverage from coverage provider the platform recorded him saying: "Always me! I'm leaving the team! It's wiser if I depart, I'm moving on."

In his most recent message on the platform, the athlete said: "I vow to keep battling at all times for the welfare of Real Madrid, as I have done since the very beginning."
